I started this blog back in 2006, mostly as a means to reach out to family and friends (and maybe just a few people in the knit blogging community). It was fun, at first, it really was. And then came Facebook. And twitter. And I kind of lost my way with the blog. Facebook (and to a very lesser extent Twitter) became the repository for my link shares and random thoughts and the blog was relegated to mostly knitting content. The other thing that happened when Facebook and Twitter came along is that I started spending more and more of my time on the computer and less and less time doing other stuff, like knitting (and reading, and being outside, and having real life experiences and stuff) so I had fewer things to blog about and so the blog became boring and I became bored with the blog.
This realization makes me sad. I enjoy blogging. Or least I did enjoy it, back before I got sucked into the black hole that is social media, and I really would like to get back into it. So I am going to try something. Instead of posting my random thoughts and link shares and basically anything else to Facebook or Twitter first, I will post them here first. I’m going to start blogging again, hopefully frequently.
Sounds like you went through the same thing I did. Hopefully we’ll both get back into the swing of things.
