Yesterday was fun. Fun in the sense that we were lucky enough not to have to go anywhere and could stay in and watch the snow come down from the safety and warmth of our own home. And snow it did! The original forecast had called for 4 or 5 inches and the snow started coming down around noon.
But by 2 o’clock, there were already about 4 inches out there.
And it just kept coming:
and coming.
Until, by sunset, we’d been blanketed by about nine soft and fluffy inches of snow:
Lovely! (I can say that because I wasn’t stuck on the highway where drivers were actually leaving their cars to walk home. As I said, we were lucky.)
What’s the weather like where you are? Any Aussies among my readership? I’d love to see a picture of summer time! ;-)
Blah I had to drive in it. Luckily the roads werent closed even though DOT wasnt trying hard to plow anything.
I miss summer.
You need to move to Australia.
Looks like the snow you got yesterday has arrived today. But it’s okay for me – nothing scheduled for Saturday that can’t be pushed back to tomorrow or Monday. Best to stay in and enjoy a snow day!
Agreed! I hope you had a pleasant snow day!
Wow, that is so pretty! I’m in Australia, and I’ve never seen snow in person. I’ll post a photo of my surrounds on my blog today for you. It’s not terribly summery here at the moment, we’re having masses of rain and a lot of the towns north of me (Brisbane) are very badly flooded. Still, it’s nice not to be sweating, and it’s also nice to have water in the dams again after 10 years of drought.
I’d seen news about the floods on TV Scary stuff. I hope that those affected will be okay.
I’ll go check your blog for a picture of summer!
Hi there! I live in Sandy Hook and found you on Twitter because I mostly run, but sometimes knit. Luckily I took the streets home from Southbury that night or I would still be on 84! It’s beautiful though, isn’t it?
Thanks for stopping by! Yeah, it was a really great snowfall! I’m glad to hear you aren’t still stuck on 84. :-)
Here in Central Oregon, we have no snow. Chilly – yesterday’s high was around 40. We’re known for having around 300 days of sunshine a year, so even when it snows, we usually get some sun every day…keeps it from getting too gloomy.
I hear there’s a storm headed your way!
Lucky for me – on Friday at least – I work in lower Fairfield County and live just across the border in NY. It got better as I went home on Friday. I guess that makes up for having been whacked worse in the blizzard? Now, just waiting for Tuesday night/Wednesday morning – more on the way.
We got about 4 inches here. Craziness for the South. O.o
