Dear Trader Joe:
Please place signage on or near your watermelon flats indicating the color of the inside of the melons.
The yellow is always so jarring, especially if you are expecting a rich, sweet red. I am willing to forgive you this time, dear Joe, because the amazing swirly pattern is so pleasing to the eye, but please remember a sign (Yellow Flesh Melon!) next time.
Thank you and see you soon,
Jen
It’s a good thing Joe has brought so much joy (aka food?!) into our lives. The yellow fruit is pretty odd looking.
I’m eating little bits of the red version mixed w/ yogurt and some crunchy homemade cereal right now. Yay for summer!
That’s a really pretty melon! I don’t think I’ve ever seen that perfect three-armed pattern with the perfect double curves on the end. Wow.
I actually look for these at my farmer’s market each summer, but understand your expecting a rather different hue under the rind. They are actually quite sweet. If you were to do a blind taste test you wouldn’t know the difference- really. Love the swirly pattern too.
Yumyum I like yellow flesh watermelons… but it certainly is a shock if you’re not expecting it!
It’s got a three-way twirled mustache, to one-up Mr. Trader Joe himself. Too funny!
