Sometimes you go so long without making a blog post that re-entry is awkward and difficult without an “I’m sorry I haven’t blogged” sort of statement. Generally I try to avoid those because, hey, blogging is a hobby and sometimes I have time for it, and sometimes I don’t. Suffice it to say that not only was July a very busy month, but I have also spread myself rather thin in the social media sphere. I have two blogs, a ravelry, a tumblr, a twitter, and a Facebook and trying to figure out how to integrate them all (or even in part) has been tricky. I mean, I don’t want the tumblr (or the Ravelry) to replace blogging and I don’t want the twitter to replace Facebook. I want them all to sort of support each other. But I haven’t quite managed to solve that puzzle yet. [sigh]
So, what have I been up to, besides not blogging, raveling, tumblring, twittering on occasion, and Facebooking? My last couple of weeks, let me show you them.
1. The Tour de Fleece got finished:
It was seriously fun and I am definitely going to do it again next year.
2. There was a Webs excursion:
I didn’t get much this time. I was mostly along for the ride with a friend who was buying yarn for her holiday knitting.
3. There has been knitting progress:
(click each photo to be taken to the Ravelry project page)
And that’s it, you’re all pretty much caught up now. How has your summer been so far? Keeping busy?

Well, after all, your blog is titled “Knitting Interrupted”
I know what you mean though. Trying to figure out how all these social medias can support each other and not cancel each other out can be a challenge. The other part I find challenging is that I often use facebook for my day job and twitter and my blog for my knitting life. So while on occasion they mesh, for the most part they are separate worlds, so I can’t use all those linking programs that post on facebook when you update Twitter orviceversa.
Yeah, man, I totally hear you. We’re smack dab in the middle of busy season, having a blast with it all but not so much on the knitting front. And when I do get a chance to knit? I go for a walk or do something stupid like pay the bills or scrub a disgusting tub. ;-) But tonight, I’m pooped and there are some Netflix DVDs calling my name. I plan to park this butt firmly in a chair, along with a good knitting project, and stay there until bedtime. Might put up a blog post eventually, might not. It’s all good. So far, I’ve managed to resist the FB/Twitter/Rav/other timesucks. I figure there comes a point when I’d rather live my life, not document it.
Great stuff! I love the color on those socks you’ve got going, and the spinning is awesome. Very nice progress!
I understand. Sometimes I’ll go several weeks without posting and then have trouble because I don’t know where to start. lol
Love all the goodies you got from Webs and the handspun looks awesome!
Now I feel bad for not having more work done on my BSJ. And like I should cast on the Hemlock blanket. Oh. That’s what I could be doing now.
