Another Yarn Tasting!

Today was another yarn tasting at the LYS. What fun! The first 15 or 20 people who signed up got a little package of mini skeins:

Which I am going to sit down and knit into swatches right this very minute.

ALSO! I arrived home to a message from the shop on my voicemail telling me I’d won a door prize! I have no idea what the door prize is, but it’s still exciting to win something. Pictures of that after I pick it up, probably tomorrow.

WINNING!

Caturday: ‘Nip Edition

Mr. Interrupted brought home a very special treat for the cats today: a live catnip plant. As you can see, it was very well received.

Meh.

The One Where I Don’t Do Anything

Today has been one of those days where my adrenal fatigue has gotten the better of me and I’ve spent very little time doing much of anything, much less anything of interest. To that end, I am going to wrap myself in wool and retire from the computer to my bed wherein I shall read and/or knit for the rest of the evening. Here’s hoping tomorrow is a better day. Cheers!

random

Random Thursday

1. I wore my new sweater out today. It was pretty awesome.

2. I took the chicken purse out in public today too. That was also pretty awesome.

3. Without a new smallish project to work on, I took my sister’s shawl to the park to work on.

4. I managed 2 rows.

5. I think I screwed one of them up.

6. I am prowling Ravelry for projects.

7. I need something smallish and portable that isn’t socks.

8. Not sure why I don’t want to knit socks, but there you go.

9. I’m thinking I’ll do some stash diving this weekend.

10. Or maybe tomorrow.

11. Once I decide what I’ll be casting on.

How was your day?

Knitting

And DONE!

I did it! I managed to uncouple the warp field array on this damn sweater and actually make some progress on it! Last night I cast it off and gave it a quick wash. Holy crap did this yarn relax when it got wet. The sweater is meant to be big and roomy but not as big and roomy as it was when I pulled it out of the wash. I laid it flat and let it sit over night and when I got up this morning, I actually tossed its stubborn, still-damp self into the dryer for 5 minutes. That was just the ticket; it tightened back up nicely.

All it needs is some buttons to hold it shut and I’m all set! w00t!

OMG YOU GUYS

Okay, so last night Hubs and I sat down to watch a couple of episodes of Firefly and I knitted on my sweater. Dudes. IT’S STILL THE SAME LENGTH AS WHEN I STARTED! BLAAAAAAARGH!!!

In other news, the new handbag I ordered from Amazon arrived today.

IT’S SO AWESOME!

life

Life is Like That

Today was one of those busy days of running around that didn’t allow for much knitting time or a very interesting blog post. I took the kid to the orthodontist then we went to the library and then the health food store. After which, we came home and I looked at the internet for a while before I had to switch off and head over to my naturopath. (OMG, I am such a crunchy hippie aren’t I? I was going to go to Trader Joe’s, too!) A busy day to be sure, but not a very interesting one.

Right now there is a Facebook poll going around which asks which states you’ve been to. I really hate the questions feature of Facebook, since it doesn’t seem to work very well and I end up getting aggravated because I’m unable to click the box I want to click! Blaaarrgh! Anyway, I was reminded of this one, which works quite well and also provides a lovely visual result!

Can you tell the route we took when I moved from Idaho to Connecticut? See? I was an interesting person. Once.

Knitting

And It’s Completely Green, Too!

I swear, there’s some sort of space/time warping effect that happens as you approach the end of a project. Last night, I sat down with my tea and a silly movie to knit the last couple of inches of this damn sweater, and when the movie was finished, I swear I had the same amount of garter stitch as I had when I started!

If only there were some way to harness this, we’d completely solve the world’s energy needs! Knitters: your alternate energy source since 2011.

Happy Caturday!

Hope your Caturday featured your favorite toys too. Cheers!
