Well, hey there!

Wow, it’s already 11pm. I just got back from orchestra (well, about an hour ago I did, but I had to do some things before I could get to the computer).  It was our dress rehearsal for the concert which is on Sunday. What a great rehearsal we had! We sounded awesome! I counted all my counted measures properly and I didn’t miss any of my entrances. You should’ve been there! Because, of course, you know that we’ve jinxed ourselves for the concert and we’re going to totally suck. /sigh/

I was going to snap a picture, but of course I forgot my camera. FURTHER! I’m embarrassed to say that I can’t think of a way to wrap up this post, so I will just say GOOD NIGHT! And I’ll see you tomorrow. Cheers!

Oh My Would You Look at the Time!

Yup, it’s late. After 11pm and I still don’t have a blog post up. IN ADDITION! I am having an incredibly difficult time coming up with something to blog about. AND SO!  To that end, something completely and utterly random: my to-do list for tomorrow.

1. Get to the bottom of the laundry hamper. I know this is a tough one, especially for this family of four, but I’m this close…

2. Get my hair cut. I actually cannot remember the last time I had a hair cut, which definitely means it’s time for at least a trim. My appointment’s at 1 pm.

3. Give the mister a hair cut. Always fun. BZZZZZT!

4. Get the boys’ hair cut. Every one’s looking a little shaggy here, I guess.

5. Get the herb plants I bought this week planted into my containers. I’m not a very good gardener, but I like to at least make a token effort this time of year.

6. Get at least 1 pattern repeat of my sister’s shawl done. I’ve managed to do 2 repeats so far, so there’s only 10 more to go!

What do you all have to get done this weekend?

A Fun Day (with a slightly TMI picture)

I had some dental work done today! My very back tooth had an old amalgam filling which the dentist wanted to replace with a shiny new (not shiny) composite filling.

He had to give me 3 shots to numb me sufficiently (his nifty new Single Tooth Anesthetic thingy just didn’t work on me) and after the work was finished, he ever so helpfully informed me that I will be numb until Tuesday.

Luckily I’m not too numb for knitting!

I has PJ pants now!

I had a great day today, hanging out with my friend Weaver who surged my PJ pants for me. Now I have two new pairs of PJ pants made from t-shirt stretch knit. (Thanks again Weaver!) They are going to be SO comfy this summer! I9 and E5 both have a pair too. Yay! While we were doing that, the kids played, and she showed off her new floppy sun hats and her chubby super heroes. Awesome! Now I am getting ready for this week’s trip to the beach where it will be a whopping 60 degrees. I’m bringing a sweater this time. And wearing long pants. But hey, at least we’ll be cold at the beach! Everything is more awesome when you’re at the beach. Even freezing your ass off.

Drive By Blog Post

I’m just popping in here (you know, because of that daily obligation thing) to say that after a typical day of running errands, folding laundry, unloading and loading the dishwasher, making dinner, and unloading and loading the dishwasher again, I’ve decided to go ahead and get off the computer now and do some knitting. Have a wonderful evening/night/morning (depending on what time it is when this post reaches you)! <3

Also, here is a picture of an octopus. Have more than one octopus in your tank? Surprise, it’s not a tangle of octopi.

A Plan

Thing the first: I need to have some travel knitting, something small and mindless for knitting abroad. Right now, that’s a dishcloth.

Thing the second: I need to actually work on my sister’s Blue Blossom Shawl so I can finally finish it already. It’s my evening knitting from now until it’s done.

Thing the third: The strangest sensation has taken me over and I have an intense desire to do some sewing. Tomorrow I will make a drawstring bag (or two), a hand bag organizer thingy, and some PJ pants for myself and the boys.

Thing the fourth: I have a couple of library books (The Lathe of Heaven and Lilith’s Brood) which I have on inter-library loan. If I am ever to finish reading them before I have to return them, I need to spend less time on the Internets. Well…. You know, I’ll TRY to do that.

Life is Like That

Today was one of those busy days of running around that didn’t allow for much knitting time or a very interesting blog post. I took the kid to the orthodontist then we went to the library and then the health food store. After which, we came home and I looked at the internet for a while before I had to switch off and head over to my naturopath. (OMG, I am such a crunchy hippie aren’t I? I was going to go to Trader Joe’s, too!) A busy day to be sure, but not a very interesting one.

Right now there is a Facebook poll going around which asks which states you’ve been to. I really hate the questions feature of Facebook, since it doesn’t seem to work very well and I end up getting aggravated because I’m unable to click the box I want to click! Blaaarrgh! Anyway, I was reminded of this one, which works quite well and also provides a lovely visual result!

Can you tell the route we took when I moved from Idaho to Connecticut? See? I was an interesting person. Once.

Speaking of Dreams Being Weird

I have this recurring dream where I’m on a large airplane, and the plane is trying to take off, but for whatever reason, the pilot is unable to get it far enough off the ground to clear a nearby mountain range. The plane is forced to land in the forest on this huge mountain, and there are airport workers all over (you know, the guys with the ear protection and the reflective vests and the flashlights) directing us back to the airport. In my dream, I’m always making friendly chit-chat with another passenger as we walk first through the forest and then down through a series of staircases back to the airport where, I’m assuming, we’ll board another plane. This morning while I was dreaming this, I connected it somehow to another dream I’d had earlier of having a baby, and as I was waking up I remember thinking (as I descended the series of staircases) that I had left my one day old newborn at home without pumping any milk.

I did a quick Google search of this (and other recurring dreams I’ve had) and am always surprised at how many people report similar dreams (even the chewing gum dream appears to be a common one!). I’m not sure what the dream is trying to tell me, but I’m pretty sure it doesn’t have anything to do with erectile dysfunction.

Promises Made, Promises Broken

I know that at the end of yesterday’s post I promised you some knitting content, and honestly, that was the plan. But then today happened. The kids and I met a friend and her kids at the park for a little geocaching and some fun in the cold, late-March Connecticut sun before we headed back to her house to hang out and chat while the kids did the same. Well, you know how it is, this friend and I get to talking and before we know it, it’s 630 pm and neither of us has done any of the other things that we needed to do today. You know, like make dinner and stuff. I also had to make a Target run and I’ve been trying to get over to the health food store for like 2 weeks. Anyway, by the time I packed up my stuff and my kids and ran over to Target and got home and found something to feed everyone and then get everyone showered and into bed, it was already 930. So yeah, today happened and not only did I not get any knitting do, but I also did not get any knit blogging done. Yes, fair Reader, I am making progress on my sweater and I actually hope to finish it by the end of the week. You’ll just have to wait until later to see it. But you know what? It’s totally worth the wait, because it is AWESOME.

Cheers!
